- Verified that this vehicle intermittently starts. Upon starting vehicle there is a long slow crank before ignition. Verified that this starter assembly is receiving sufficient power/ ground. R&R Starter motor assembly. After replacement of the starter the vehicle no longer has a slow crank and starts almost immediately every time the ignition is turned. There is oil leaking from the engine possibly from multiple locations. Oil appears to be leaking from the engine cylinder head valve covers and possibly from the rear main oil seal due to there being oil inside the bell housing of the transmission visible through the starter hole. This can cause an issue with the starter if oil is continuously leaking onto the starter. To pin point exact location of the leak it is advised to add UV leak detection dye in the engine oil system.
