    • Verified that this vehicle intermittently starts. Upon starting vehicle there is a long slow crank before ignition. Verified that this starter assembly is receiving sufficient power/ ground. R&R Starter motor assembly. After replacement of the starter the vehicle no longer has a slow crank and starts almost immediately every time the ignition is turned. There is oil leaking from the engine possibly from multiple locations. Oil appears to be leaking from the engine cylinder head valve covers and possibly from the rear main oil seal due to there being oil inside the bell housing of the transmission visible through the starter hole. This can cause an issue with the starter if oil is continuously leaking onto the starter. To pin point exact location of the leak it is advised to add UV leak detection dye in the engine oil system.

    • Customer states that the turn signals, head lights, dome lights, fog lights and all wiper blade controls are inoperable resulting in the headlights and wiper blades remaining in the on position. Verified this concern upon turning the key to the on position. Using APOLLO D8 scan tool I found active DTC U1149 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH MULTI-FUNCTIOIN SWITCH. Steering column covers have to be removed in order to gain access to multi-function switches. With the vehicle in the on position I used a power probe multi-meter to check for ground and voltage. I verified that there is voltage and ground present in the multi-function switch. Disconnected Multi-function switch and checked for ground and proper voltage at the connector. I verified that the connector is receiving proper voltage and ground. Results of the tests verified that the multi-function switch is faulty. R&R combination/ multi-function switch and cleared codes. Vehicle now has full operation of all high beams, low beams, fog lights, turn signals, dome lights and all wiper blade controls.

    • Check engine light is illuminated on the dash. Using APOLLO D8 scan tool I found that this vehicles ECU/ PCM has P0302 CYLINDER 2 MISFIRE. Upon inspection of the ignition system I found that the cylinder 2 spark plug is not only damaged but is showing massive amounts of carbon build up indicating a spark plug that does not produce spark in order to ignite fuel in cylinder 2. R&R spark plugs and applied dielectric grease to the spark plug coil boots. After repair this vehicle is no longer misfiring. There are other stored BCM (body control module) codes as well these would need to be diagnosed/ repaired by an automotive electrical specialist. However these other stored codes are not PCM (powertrain control module) codes there fore they should not trigger a check engine light on the dash.

    • Performed routine maintenance. Visually inspected fluids, belts, hoses, brakes and tires. All visuals are within manufacturer specifications at this time. Topped off fluid levels. Raised vehicle and drained oil. Changed engine oil filter and set tire psi to 35. While vehicle was raised off of the ground I found that there is oil covering the engine oil pan. Engine oil leak diagnosis is recommended to pinpoint exact location of oil leak. Most likely the pan gasket will need to be repaired. Filled oil to capacity using customer provided oil. Reset maintenance light and placed new oil changed reminder sticker in windshield.
    • Raised vehicle. Drained transmission fluid. Filled transmission with customer provided fluid. Ensured that the vehicles transmission fluid level is at the maximum level. Shifted vehicle through all gears and test drove to ensure proper fluid level.
