    • Inspected vehicles braking system. Placed vehicle onto hoist and lifted vehicle. Visually inspected front and rear pads and rotors. Front brake pads are about 10mm in thickness and rears are about 5mm in thickness. Upon Physical inspection of the rear brakes I verified that the pad thickness is 5mm for all four rear brake pads. Rotors measure 8.5mm which the minimum before needing replacement is 8mm. I found that there is no cracking. Pads and Rotors are slightly glazed from brake dust. Rotors do not contain excessive lateral runout indicating rotors are not warped. Test drove vehicle and could not duplicate rear brake squeak during braking. Also during test drive I did not experience any brake pulsation verifying that the rotors are not warped. Vehicle will need rear brake pad/ rotor replacement in the future possibly upon or shortly after next oil change service.

    • Verified vehicle shuts off while driving. Vehicle had died at a stop light upon test drive after vehicle reached operating temperature. Used APOLLO D8 scan tool to check for stored codes and found P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit Problem. Upon inspection of the connector as well as wiring I found no damage. I used our snap-on power probe to verify power at CKP sensor connector and found that the CKP sensor is receiving proper voltage. Battery voltage is at 12.3 volts and the power being supplied at the connector is also 12.3 volts indicating no problems with the wiring nor with the connector. I ensured that the vehicle engine is receiving proper fuel pressure as well as voltage within the entirety of the fuel system. I also verified that this vehicle is not misfiring. I cleared codes and test drove for a second time. Upon test drive I was able to duplicate vehicle shut down again while driving. After restarting vehicle the Check engine light was illuminated. When I scanned vehicle again P0335 returned as well as P0011 B1 "A" Cam timing system performance and P0021 B2 "A" Cam Timing System Performance. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and cleared codes. Test drove vehicle after repair and did not receive any codes. Vehicle no longer shuts off while driving nor does the vehicle have a long crank upon ignition. Vehicle starts with no hesitation.

    • Customer states that the vehicle runs rough at idle and runs great after 1000rpms. Verified idle concern. During inspection I used our APOLLO D8 scan tool and found that there were no engine diagnostic trouble codes indicating a misfire. Upon visual inspection of spark plugs I found that they were OE and worn. I also found that the throttle body was dirty and contained oil inside the intake plenum. There is also fluids surrounding the lower part of the intake manifold indicating that there is also and intake leak. Old spark plugs, a dirty throttle body and a leaking intake all play apart in how the engine idles. I verified that the vehicle does have good fuel pressure and that all injectors are good. Recommended tune up, throttle body cleaning and intake gasket replacement. R&R spark plugs, cleaned throttle body and performed throttle position relearn. Idle is improved however vehicle will need lower intake manifold gaskets to significantly restore idle to normal operation. Vehicle will be scheduled next week for intake gasket replacement. Labor includes Diagnosis, throttle body cleaning, throttle body relearn and spark plug replacement.
    • Changed engine oil and oil filter. Visually inspected fluids, belts, hoses, brakes and tires. All visuals are within manufacturer specifications at this time. Rotated tires and set psi to 35 front and 39 rear. Reset maintenance light and placed new oil changed reminder sticker in windshield.

    • Upon vehicle inspection I was able to determine that there is no leaks in the coolant system. After the serpentine belt had broken and was ejected from underneath the vehicle this vehicles accessories were not being operated. After belt was missing I found that the water pump was not cycling the coolant throughout the cooling system properly resulting in the radiator getting hot and the reservoir was venting pressure/ coolant to prevent damage to the cooling system. I found that there were no other issues with the vehicle no other repairs are necessary at this time. Recommended oil change and tire rotation.
    • Customer had advised that the vehicle battery light as well as many other lights appeared on the dash and had found that his accessory drive belt was missing. After replacing belt I verified that all the accessories are operational and all lights were not illuminated on the dash. scanned vehicle for codes and only found low battery voltage/ lost communication codes. Cleared codes and cleaned engine. Test drove and verified that there were no issues.

    • Customer stated that they were advised by another shop that they needed rear axle seals and a driver front wheel bearing. Upon test drive I did not find that there was any grinding noise/ vibration coming from the driver front wheel bearing that would indicate that the wheel bearing is bad. While vehicle was hoisted on a lift I used a mechanical stethoscope to inspect for wheel bearing noise. While I was underneath the vehicle I had someone in the driver seat maintaining speed and did not find any noise coming from the driver front wheel bearing. Also while vehicle was lifted I inspected the rear axle seals and noticed some seepage however I did not see any wetness indicating a leak. When fluid is visually dripping from axles the seals will need to be replaced. However, in order to prevent failure to the axle seals resulting in a major leak I recommend replacing seals when differential fluids are replaced. Customer had advised that the abs/ traction control light will illuminate. I removed and cleaned rear wheel speed sensors and lights have not appeared. Customer also had advised that the check engine light will come on after a few hours of driving. I scanned vehicle and found P0441 EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS INCORRECT PURGE FLOW. Vehicle did not have the CEL illuminated on the dash this light had been cleared recently however the codes remained. Customer had advised that the gas cap had recently been replaced and the light had been cleared. A failing gas cap is one of the main reasons this code appeared. After clearing codes and test driving this code has not returned. Monitor axle fluid seepage.
    • Changed Engine oil and oil filter. Visually inspected all fluids, belts, hoses, brakes and tires. Topped off washer fluid, coolant and power steering fluid. Differential fluids, transmission and transfer case fluids are due at 120k miles. Customer will schedule for those services in the near future. Recommend replacing brake fluid upon next brake service. Brakes are visually about 5mm thickness in front and rear. Tires are 9 32nds tread in the front and 8 32nds tread in the rear prior to rotation. Rotated tires and set psi to 35. Reset maintenance light and placed new oil change reminder sticker in windshield. Recommend Tire Balance upon next oil change service due to vibration while driving.
    • R&R spark plugs and spark plug coil boots applied Di-Electric grease to both sides of all new coil boots. Intake had to be removed in order to replace the driver side spark plugs/ coil boots.
